The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art, A Center for Cultural Arts temporarily closed on May 13th, 2020 due to the rising health risks related to the global health crisis COVID-19. Since official statements were released by state and national government and health agencies encouraging the reopening of the economy, we have been steadily and mindfully preparing for the reopening of our studios and art center.

The health of our family and yours remains our priority.

Both I (Sarah West ) and Michele West, and our immediate family have practices all extreme health related safety measures as advised by leading health officials. We have practiced the safety recommendations with precautionary social distancing and we have remained isolated for over 60 days. We have taken these precautionary measures to insure that not only we and our immediately family may remain safe, but also so that we are able to provide the safest environment possible when the arts center and studios are reopened. We are striving to take every measure in hopeful consideration that every person’s safety and well-being can be maintained.

As of May 12th, 2020, The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art, A Center for Cultural Arts is planning to reopen on Monday May 18th. All Studio Class Programs will resume Tuesday May 19th, Wednesday May 20th  and Thursday May 21st.

Although we are announcing this reopening, the following increased measures for health and safety have been made. These guidelines will be required and will remain in place for the foreseeable future:

Guidelines:

A Mask or Facial Covering is Required * NO one is permitted to enter The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art without a facial covering

Upon entrance into The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art, each individual is required to:

Wear a Face Covering, Maintain 6′ Distance & Wash Hands

To view the gallery exhibitions, an appointment is strongly encouraged- call 334-480-2008

To enroll in Studio Classes, you may visit the art center, or to lessen in person interactions call- 334-480-2008

STUDIO CLASS- CHANGES:

In relation to our new guidelines, for the health and safety of every one,

Studio Classes will be Limited

Each Studio Space will be occupied by only one student, with each student maintaining a 6′ distance at all times.

Every studio space and every item pertaining to studio use equipment will be sanitized prior to and following individual use.

Aside from the above “new rules,” we are determined to make the very most what we have learned from this unimaginable experience in hopes that we can continue to flatten the curve, reduce the spread, remain healthy and safe and live better as we move beyond this strange time that has been Spring 2020.

For our students, some things will change, and with any change it my promise that every change will simply be an improvement and an opportunity to refine the quality of enrichment and education through experiences you attain at The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art, A Center for Cultural Arts all the more.

In the coming days, students will receive a number of exciting announcements relating to the continuance of classes, the nature of new guidelines and how we will navigate this new era safely at a 6′ distance, while wearing masks, together.
