The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art, A Center for Cultural Arts recognize the outstanding achievements in creative development by sixth grade students across Lee County Alabama.
Throughout the 2021-2022 school year, The Sarah West Gallery of Fine Art, A Center for Cultural Arts continued collaboration with the Lee County Board of Education in making fine art education accessible to elementary schools via the ART IN SCHOOLS program.
ART IN SCHOOLS provides culturally enriching and educationally engaging fine art classes, and fine art exhibition opportunities to sixth grade students. During the school year, over 160 traditional classroom presentations including fine art demonstrations and art history lectures were rendered, and over 12,000 drawing studies were achieved. Student accomplishments were exhibited through Virtual, In-School and Public Art Exhibitions.
